Over the last few weeks Thursday Beavers have been very busy.
We have all been working towards Special interest badges away from the Den. Badges have been awarded for Dancing, Sewing. Cooking, Ballet, Canyoning, Rugby, Football, Recycling and Planting.
We had two new Beavers invested into the scouting family and we welcome them to the start of their scouting adventure.
Many beavers have earned enough spices through den activities to complete Bree with older ones completing Ruarc and a few completing Conn. Badges were awarded for Emergencies, Air, Hiking, Camping, Backwoods, Pioneering and Boats.
We took our CSA beavers on a 10k hike in Wicklow as part of their program and despite the rain we had a great day, map reading, using compasses, erecting shelters, cooking noodles and Geocaching.
We also had our annual sleepover in Kilcock den. We set up tents indoors, played map games, cooked sausage rolls, had a beaver quiz, enjoyed a chocolate fountain and despite the weather had a scavenger hunt for “fluffy buck”, our mascot around the village.
Next up on Saturday we are participating in the Beaver challenge in Celbridge which is a fun way to show off what we have learned over the year against other dens. Good luck to Beavers and Scouters!!
Next week we will be getting ready for the St. Patricks Day parade in Clane.
