This was known as N.I. Jam and was the first Jamboree for some scouts. It was in Crawfordsburn Scout Centre grounds near Bangor Co. Down. The theme of the camp was Imps Chimps & Fairies. It was a 7 day camp. We were in subcamp Gullion. Each subcamp was named after the highest peaks in the north. The gate to our camp site won best entrance. We had a huge chair which was used by lots of other groups for pictures. It was decorated with fairy doors that we had made before camp.
We had thunder and lightening, heavy rain and storms for the first few day but this didn’t stop us enjoying camp. We had full days of activity. We had an army training day that included team building activities, first aid, laser tag, zorbing & soccer shooting. We had a backwoods activity day, kayaking and swimming, a trip to the Giant’s Causeway another day. We had themed evenings, a Superheroes evening, a onesie evening, a neon evening and a market trading evening. There were discos we went to most evenings. There was a big campfire for our subcamp. Some from our group lead with camp songs.
We mixed with other groups in our subcamp for all the activities. We made lots of new friends. It was a great camp and everyone had fun.
