Scouts have been very busy since Christmas. They have been carving their own woggles and learning how to keep their knives sharp. They have also been working with axes, making feather-sticks and lighting camp fires without using matches.
Some of our Scouts attended our County Founder’s Day celebrations in Donadea Forest Park on 22nd February. They had a great time ‘re-enacting’ the Siege of Mafeking. Gillian Ryan (Scout Leader) was delighted to receive her 25 year Scouting Service Award during the celebrations.
Scouts are in the process of building a tower using pioneering poles and lots of knots – on wheels!! – to push/pull during the St. Patrick’s Day parade in Clane.
They hope to go to Wales for their Summer Camp in early July and take part in some new activities such as Coasteering and Underground Adventure and also hopefully to spend some time on the Ffestiniog and Welsh Highland Railway.
